- Eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, unprocessed meats, nuts and—if tolerated—dairy products and beans.
- Try gluten-free grains—brown rice, wild rice, amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat, millet, sorghum and corn—and gluten-free products made from these foods or bean flours. Individual tolerances to these foods vary, though, so avoid those foods that don't agree with you.
- Don't eat any food or use any ingredient you suspect may have hidden gluten in it: Even a small amount can damage the small intestine. You may need to call product manufacturers to be certain.
