Ingredients

vegetable oil
plus additional oil for frying

tempeh, finely crumbled

russet potato, grated

green onions, finely chopped

cornstarch
or 1/4 cup unbleached flour

teaspoon
hickory smoke

teaspoon
dried sage

teaspoon
dried thyme

teaspoon
ground nutmeg

teaspoon
ground pepper

teaspoons
tamari sauce
Sea salt
to taste
Instructions
Preheat extra oil in large skillet.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well with your hands. Form mixture into eight 3/4-inch-thick patties.
Cook sausage patties over medium heat on both sides until browned.
Serve warm with eggs, any style.
