Brown Butter Gingerbread Pear Crisp

Ingredients
  • 1/4cup butter
  • 1/2cup organic sprouted quick oats
  • 1/2cup superfine almond flour
  • 1/4cup (unrefined coconut sugar
  • 1/4cup chopped pecans
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 Anjou pearssliced
  • 1/4cup pure organic maple syrup
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and swirl until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool.
  3. In bowl, mix oats, almond flour, coconut sugar, pecans, and all spices. Mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, toss sliced pears with maple syrup and half of browned butter.
  5. Take remaining half of browned butter and mix into oat mixture.
  6. Spread pears into a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking dish and sprinkle oat mixture overtop.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and pears are tender.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yogurt or coconut whipped cream.
