No tricks here! These healthy and party-perfect treats for Halloween feature whole foods, unrefined sugars and just the right amount of spookiness.
Vegan Caramel Sauce
Instead of saccharine caramel apples, make this silky dairy-free caramel sauce. In a heavy saucepan, bring 1 cup canned coconut milk, 1 cup date sugar or coconut palm sugar and a pinch of sea salt to a boil. Once bubbling, reduce heat to low and simmer until thick and dippable. Serve warm with fresh apple slices and whole-grain pretzel sticks.

Honey-Sweetened Popcorn Balls
Traditional popcorn-ball recipes feature not-so-healthy ingredients, such as corn syrup and butter. Make these honey-sweetened popcorn balls instead for a tasty, Halloween-y snack. To prepare, heat ¼ cup honey in a saucepan until it has the appearance of liquid, pour honey over 5 cups of popcorn, mix and stir in a pinch of sea salt. If desired, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg. Press the popcorn into palm-sized balls, and place on a baking sheet to cool completely before serving.

Yogurt-Dipped Banana Ghosts
Forget decorating sugar-laden cookies and cupcakes like spooky spirits. Instead inspire little ghouls and goblins to nosh yogurt-dipped banana ghosts for a pre-trick-or-treating snack. Slice peeled bananas in half, and thread each banana piece onto a wooden skewer. Dunk the skewered banana in vanilla-flavored yogurt, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place two dark-chocolate-chip “eyes” near the top of the banana ghost, and freeze until yogurt is solid.
