Guide To A Good Life
The Newman’s Own Organics Guide to a Good Life (Villard, 2003) is for those looking for advice on how to protect and care for our planet, but who can do without a lot of shoulds. As entertaining as they are inspiring, authors Nell Newman and Joseph D’Agnese offer simple ways to conserve resources, preserve land, and limit toxin release into our environment. For example, a proponent of integrated pest management helped a baker with a bee problem avoid using toxic pesticides by simply turning off the lights in the oven and opening the door. All the bees cleared out, heading for the outside light. From teaching how to make wise choices at the supermarket to choosing a socially responsible credit card company, this book offers a wide range of opportunities to become more environmentally accountable.
