Follow these steps to determine how many grams of protein you should eat every day.
- Convert your body weight to kilograms by dividing your weight in pounds by 2.2.
- Determine where you fall in the athletic spectrum, between 1.2 and 1.7. If you exercise moderately a few times a week, you’re likely to be in the 1.2 range; if you’re a hard-core endurance runner, you’re probably closer to 1.7.
- Multiply your weight in kilograms by the number in step 2. This equals your recommended daily grams of protein.
