European business manager
Stratum Nutrition has expanded its sales efforts in Europe and Asia with the hiring of Michael Faber as business manager. Faber brings more than 15 years of sales, marketing and business management experience. Previously, Faber worked as head of business development at analyze & realize ag, a consulting firm focusing on the natural-products sector based in Berlin, Germany. He holds a bachelor's in economics and accounting from BBS Holzminden, Germany.
Director of strategic initiatives
Ingredients manufacturer Teawolf has hired Eric Schnell in an advisory role as director of strategic initiatives. Schnell will focus on new business efforts and expanding the company's sustainability practices. He most recently served as president of Steaz: The Healthy Beverage Co, which he founded in 2002. Prior to Steaz, Schnell served as national brand manager for Country Life Vitamins and later became president of its Long Life Tea division.
Senior VP of global operations
Key Technology has appointed Joel Bustos as senior vice president of global operations. He brings 19 years of business and operational leadership experience to his position, most recently as the vice president of operations at Aehr Test Systems. He holds a degree in human relations from the University of San Francisco. Key Technology is a designer and manufacturer of process automation systems based in Washington.
GOED expands board of directors
The Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED) has expanded its board of directors from eight to 14, to accommodate a growth in the group's membership. The board members are: David Shannon (Croda), Baldur Hjaltason (EPAX), Robert Orr (ONC), Amanda Ruess (DSM Nutritional Products), Phillip Fass (Martek Biosciences), Carol Locke (Omega Natural Science), Kent Cipollo (Solae), Cynthia Crouch (DuPont), Hans de Wit (Marvesa), Josipa Paska (FINA), Bjorn Rene (Cognis), Harald Ronneberg (Denomega), Olav Sandnes (Marine Nutriceuticals), and Federico Tripodi (Monsanto).
Cognis hires three execs
Christine O'Neil has joined Cognis Nutrition & Health as director of sales. She previously served as executive director of health and wellness with Ajinimoto Food Ingredients. In addition, Teri Woodward has joined Cognis' North American sales team as account executive. She previously worked with Orafti Active Food Ingredients, Tate & Lyle and Domino Sugar. Ryan Mitchell has also joined the company as strategic purchasing manager. Mitchell previously served as global procurement manager at The HallStar Co.
Supplement firm hires spokeswoman
VivaPrime has appointed Dr Holly Lucille as its U.S. spokesperson to promote wellness and preventive healthcare. "Dr Holly" is a licensed naturopathic physician, author, educator and natural products consultant. She has previously been the president of the California Naturopathic Doctor's Association.
