3 cups water
1 cup fresh burdock stems, chopped (or 1/2 cup dried burdock root)
1 onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh (or frozen) okra, diced
1 teaspoon turmeric
Salt and pepper to taste
1. In a large saucepan, bring the water, burdock, onion, garlic and okra to a boil.
2. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until the vegetables are soft.
3. Season with salt, pepper and turmeric.
Note: Burdock is inadvisable for pregnant women.
