Makes about 1 3/4 cups / Wonderful for tofu or pork.
1/2 cup tamari or soy sauce
1/2 cup sake or Shaoxing (rice wine)
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
2 teaspoons finely minced fresh ginger
1/2 cup mirin (Japanese sweet sake)
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
Mix all ingredients together.
