Nestlé has officially inaugurated a new $250 million production unit at its nutrition factory complex in Konolfingen, Switzerland.
The event marks the completion of a four-year program of investments worth a total of $500 million made to create a “center of excellence” for Nestlé’s specialized nutrition operations.
The new unit will manufacture products for the recently established Nestlé Health Science business, which focuses on personalized nutrition and probiotic infant formulas for export to more than 80 countries around the world.
Meanwhile, European functional ingredients supplier Beneo has announced that it is to set a ‘Technology Center’ service to drive innovation.
The company said the new ‘virtual’ facility would “support customers in all phases of product development”. It intends to reveal full details at the Food Ingredients Europe exhibition, which runs from 29 November to 1 December, in Paris.
