The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which is designed to raised awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) disease, continues to gain momentum as individuals (and now companies) upload videos of themselves pouring buckets of ice water over their heads. The challenge has so far raised over $53.3 million in donations and collected 1.1 million new donors, proving once again that social media can be a powerful and successful platform for philanthropic support.
The natural foods industry has not been exempt from participating in and supporting the cause. Videos have been popping up all over Facebook and Twitter as the industry supports the ALS Association in full force. Kudos to these natural manufacturers and retailers for participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!
