Eat a whole-foods diet rich in organic produce, grains, and proteins, as well as good fats and oils. It’s healthy for everyone, not just those trying to conceive.
Take a high-quality multivitamin and mineral preparation each day. If you’re planning to conceive, start this regimen a minimum of three months prior to conception.
Keep exercising. You don’t necessarily have to change your exercise habits, unless you don’t have an exercise routine. Brisk walking, five days a week for 45 to 60 minutes, is an excellent way to get moving. Or sign up for yoga, which promotes flexibility and strength and reduces stress before, during, and after pregnancy.
Seek out a physician long before your pregnancy to discuss your health issues, lifestyle habits, and family planning, and to up your chances of a desirable outcome.
