Although life stresses are unavoidable, we can counter negative feelings, anxieties, and physical ailments with the positive benefits that alternative therapies offer. Active engagement often contributes substantially to successful outcomes.
Therapy, in many alternative forms, has existed for centuries across cultures for both emotional and physical healing. This month, we challenge you to explore the realm of healing possibilities and restore your mind and body with an alternative therapy.
The Anxiety & Depression Association of America reports that of all mental disorders, anxiety conditions top the list. They estimate that 18 percent of Americans suffer anxiety in some form, but that it is highly treatable with methods including alternative therapies. Unfortunately, only about 37% seek any form of treatment.
Trying muscle-relaxing massage or acupuncture, energy-healing practices like qigong or reiki, or visiting a naturopath or homeopathic doctor can offer a fresh perspective and some healing potential.
Nurture physical wellness by exercising regularly, eating healthily, getting enough sleep, and limiting intake of caffeine and alcohol. Talk to your practitioner to address any conditions that can affect mental wellness or work with a naturopathic doctor or acupuncturist who can supplement mental health with nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, and other natural remedies.
Remember the mind-body connection. Reduce stress and depression symptoms with a relaxing mind-body therapy and see the positive changes for yourself.
Try it!
Therapy can be something as simple as at-home treatments that include essential oils, vitamin C serum, collagen, and essential fatty acids. Add a day brush for at-home dry brush therapy!
