Speed up compost. Nitrogen-rich tea can also accelerate decomposition, making it an awesome addition to your backyard compost heap. As long as tea bags are biodegradable—and you remove the staple or any other noncompostable parts—you can toss them right into the pile. Or use them to brew up a weak tea and pour it all over your compost to give it a boost.
