Stir-fry formula
Makes 4 servings
1 recipe Stir-Fry Sauce (see sauce recipes, below)
1 pound protein
3 tablespoons cooking oil
3 cups chopped vegetables
2 teaspoons cornstarch
4 cups cooked rice
3 tablespoons flavor topper (green onion, spicy peppers, herbs, lime)
1 teaspoon seeds or nuts
STIR-FRY SAUCE RECIPES
Southwest Fajita Sauce: Combine ¾ cup salsa verde, ¼ cup lime juice and ½ teaspoon ground cumin.
Sesame-Orange Sauce: Combine ⅔ cup orange juice, 3 tablespoons each coconut aminos and water, 1 tablespoon each rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil and honey, 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh ginger and ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper.
Coconut-Curry Sauce: Combine 2 tablespoons each creamy peanut butter and lime juice, 1 tablespoon each red curry paste and fish sauce. Gradually whisk in ¾ cup canned full-fat coconut milk.
