8 tips for eating vegetarian and vegan with kids
Inform family members, friends and your kids’ school
Your kids will be in all sorts of eating situations when you're not there to ensure they stick to their diet. And unless they are older, leaving them to fend for themselves is a lot to put on a child, especially when it means disobeying an adult watching over them.
To avoid sticky situations, tell family members, friends, neighbors and your children’s playmate's parents about your family’s diet. Inform your child’s school as well. Oftentimes these folks will gladly accommodate your child’s needs, but it’s not always a given that they will. They might also forget from time to time. Be willing to send suitable snacks, treats or meals along with your kids when they spend the afternoon a friend’s house, attend a birthday party or go to Grandma’s for the weekend.
