10 clever uses for salt
Clean your coffee pot
Coffee pots accumulate minerals from tap water and oil from coffee beans, making the glass murky and your cup of joe taste a bit off. To give your pot a refresh, just fill it with water and ¼ cup of salt, swish it around really well (or stir with a wooden spoon) and then rinse out with fresh water. You can also run the salt solution through your coffee maker to remove minerals and oil lingering inside. Just be sure to follow it up with a fresh-water run.
