French bread
Grilling bread is so simple—and so scrumptious—you’ll wish you’d thought to try it years ago. It’s especially handy when you’re grilling something else already and would like some bread for a side. Just grab a large loaf of French bread and slice it down the middle lengthwise. Now just brush each side with olive oil and sprinkle on salt. Or instead of oil, slather the bread with homemade garlic butter to make grilled garlic toast. Place the halves on the grill oil-side-down and cook or a minute or two until the edges darken and the surface crisps up.
