Clean your pots and pans
To clean cooking pots, make a paste with equal amounts of vinegar and table salt.
You can also make a metal cleaner by adding enough vinegar to 2 tablespoons cream of tartar to make a paste. Rub it on metal and let it dry on the surface. Wash it off and dry with soft cloth.
Remove dark stains on an aluminum pot by boiling in it a mixture of 1 cup white vinegar and 1 cup of water. For pots of other metals, use solution of 3 tablespoons vinegar to a pint of water. Or simply fill pots with vinegar and let them stand for a half hour. Wash with soap and water.
Got a grimy cast-iron pan? Clean the inside (use oven cleaner for the outside) with a solution of water and 2 tablespoons white vinegar, boiled together in the pan.
