7 ways to fit healthy choices into your hectic life
1. Eat together.
We know, we know: Hectic schedules make that seem impossible. But take a moment to consider the benefits: Decades of research support shared meals for emotional connection and better nutrition. One recent study found up to a 40 percent reduced risk of obesity in kids who ate five or more dinners with family per week.
“Sharing meals together gives us that one time in our day to slow down and experience each other,” says Carol Archambeault, author of The Shared-Meal Revolution (AuthorHouse, 2013). “Prioritizing getting together just one hour a day tells your family members you are more important than this work email or that reality TV show.”
Commit to a sit-down meal most days of the week—make it breakfast if you have to!
