As all of us start to think more about the safety and quality of the products that we put in our bodies, determining what we put on our bodies is becoming an increasingly thoughtful process, too. This may mean doing a total bathroom overhaul—goodbye toxic everything! Or maybe it's a matter of gradually phasing out products to purify your personal care regimen (hey, baby steps are just fine).
Regardless of what your process is, one thing is becoming apparent: Natural personal care is here to stay.
But even in a progressive industry like natural products, stereotypical gender roles have long held sway. For example, health-conscious moms have long been the go-to target consumers for brands, particularly in the personal care category. However, as these better-for-you products become more prevalent, I'm finding that companies are coming out with some great male-oriented options. Finally! Companies are opening their eyes to the vast and largely untapped male market.
In our June 2015 issue of Delicious Living, we explored some of the top trends in natural men's personal care—and some of our favorite products and brands. These companies are proving that cosmetics free from harmful chemicals should be available and marketed to all, and that personal care products aren't just meant for female shoppers.
One company I'm loving right now: PRZMan. Modern, edgy, and—yes—natural, the company not only makes great nontoxic products, but also has become a media company that focuses on man-oriented content around fatherhood, fitness, skin care, sex, and more.
With companies like these leading the way, it seems to me that men's personal care is definitely ready for the spotlight.
