Need some basic cooking skills and inspiration for eating healthier or vegan? Delicious Living recipe contributor Alan Roettinger can help.
I’ve worked with a lot of recipe developers, chefs, and other foodies over the years in my role as Delicious Living’s food editor. And although I love all of our recipes, I can say without hesitation that Alan Roettinger’s recipes rank among the best.
Check out some of his DL recipes, including July's Southwestern Vegetarian Grilling, and you’ll see what I mean.
As a professional personal chef, Alan has an amazing sense of taste and ingredients, and he has an irrepressible joy for food that makes him fun to work with and learn from. He’s also authored two wonderful cookbooks: Omega-3 Cuisine and Speed Vegan.
Now he has launched “The Occasional Vegan,” a six-part series of online cooking courses. Alan is passionate but never preachy; he just loves food, and he wants to help everyone, carnivores and vegetarians alike, to love it, too.
As he notes, there are plenty of cooking classes out there that teach you how to cook with milk, eggs, cheese, meat and fish. His desire, though, is to teach you how to make “unusual, palate-thrilling dishes with no animal products whatsoever.”
Check out this 14-minute introduction to Alan and his cooking classes (it also includes a simple, yummy recipe for Edamame Salad with Avocado).
I can confidently say that these classes will be fun and really will change your cooking and eating for the better. Let me know what you think!
