According to BuzzBack Market Research’s Teen Health and Nutrition survey of more than 500 teens ages 13 to 18, more U.S. teens, especially girls, are eating healthy to stay in shape and avoid weight gain. Here are some specifics.
- 80 percent of girls and 68 percent of boys like “fresh” food.
- 34 percent of teen girls consider nutrition important, 46 percent try to eat “what’s right,” and 32 percent get upset when they eat poorly.
- 53 percent of girls prefer fruit snacks, 37 percent of girls prefer cereal or granola bar snacks, and 16 percent of girls prefer smoothies and snack cakes.
- 66 percent of girls and 33 percent of boys consider weight gain one of their most serious health concerns.
