Where I’m At: I know, I know, you get more emails in a day than you can shake a stick at … and if you’re like me, lots of them go straight to the electronic dustbin. But I’m going to make a shameless, sincere plug to encourage you to sign up for the twice-monthly Delicious Living E-newsletter—because it’s short and sweet, offers current health news, AND provides great recipes that don’t appear in the magazine. This month, that means two yummy spinach recipes courtesy of Hugo Matheson, chef at The Kitchen, a renowned ecoconscious eatery here in Boulder (www.thekitchencafe.com). This is a man who is not afraid of fat (admit it, you like him already). In March’s e-newsletter, you’ll get his buttery-smooth Spinach Polenta and puffy Spinach Gnocchi recipes—then two more seasonal recipes every month, delivered right to your email box. (By the way, I’d never made gnocchi before trying his recipe; it was easier than I thought, and fun!) Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Where I’ve Been: The Natural Products Expo, sponsored by New Hope Natural Media, in Anaheim, California. More on that in a couple of weeks …
What I Like: Honey varietals. I recently sampled some funky flavors, including avocado honey, perfect for fruit salads; sage honey, yummy on glazed meats; fireweed honey; delicate on scones but also good in marinades; and blueberry honey, fab on just about anything. Track down these and lots more flavors at www.honeylocator.com.
