What actually happened was just the opposite. After only three days of no animal-based foods, I felt like a new man. My sinuses cleared up, and I experienced a mental clarity for the first time since, well, ever. My digestion, which had been sluggish for decades, improved dramatically. I felt more energetic, I needed less sleep, and my dangerously high cholesterol plummeted. Perhaps the most unexpected benefit was, and remains, a wonderfully varied, endlessly satisfying, extremely enjoyable diet. And no one gets hurt!
