Rooibos Rose Toner

Jessica Ress

Makes 4 ounces | Aloe vera and rose water soothe, hydrate, and condition; rooibos tea is a powerful antioxidant rich in vitamins and minerals, including zinc and vitamin D. This toner is best for normal to dry, combination, acne-prone, rosacea-prone, and maturing skin; it helps to balance skin’s pH, remove excess oil, and close and tighten pores.

  1. To make: Boil distilled water and add rooibos. Let steep for 15-20 minutes. Strain and remove solids; refrigerate tea to cool completely (10-15 minutes). Using a funnel, add aloe vera juice to cooled tea. Put rose water in a 4-ounce bottle, preferably with a mister top. Top off with aloe-rooibos mixutre. Cap tightly and shake well.
  2. To use: Use twice per day after cleansing. Moisten a cotton pad with toner and gently sweep over facial skin to remove the last traces of dirt, oil, and makeup. Follow with serum and moisturizer.
  3. To store: Store in bottle and use within one month, or refrigerate for two to three months.
