Despite health foods’ pricey reputation, eating nutritiously does not have to break the bank. To make these recipes, we shopped at budget stores, bulk bins, and natural markets to source the most nutritious, least expensive ingredients.
How inexpensive? Prices will vary, but most full-day combinations of these recipes (even using some organic ingredients!) cost less than the $4.38 per day allotted under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly called food stamps).
