Fair Trade is based on the belief that small farmers should not be exploited; that they should receive a price for their crops that doesn’t condemn them to poverty. Fair Trade prices are always higher than the international market price. With more income, farmers can invest in health and social services, receive technical assistance and develop educational programs.
