Today, gluten—the common name for proteins found in specific grains that are harfmul for people with celiac disease (CD) and non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS)—is putting many people in a sticky health situation (sorry... couldn't help myself). It’s estimated that 1 in 133 Americans suffer from CD—the vast majority of which have yet to be diagnosed—and six to seven times more people suffer from NCGS. If you’re not part of these growing statistics, you likely know someone who is, or will soon be diagnosed.
Now more than ever before, Americans are realizing the dietary culprit behind seemingly unrelated symptoms and are ready to start out on a journey to improve their health.
It’s certainly not easy; no dietary change is. But with the right resources, which likely are more accessible and better than they have been in the past, making wise nutritional decisions doesn’t have to be a struggle. Here at Delicious Living, we aim to make the right tools for feeling your best available to everyone. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Gluten Intolerance Group—an organization dedicated to raising awareness around celiac disease and gluten-sensitivity and uniting the gluten-free community—to bring you top information throughout the month of May on living a gluten-free life.
Gluten-free products have improved tremendously in flavor and texture, plus now they boast strong nutritional profiles; stores are stocking their shelves with these top products; GIG is bringing resources to local communities and educating about going gluten-free; and GF recipes are just downright delicious.
