  • Juice from 4 lemons
  • 1 6-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 6 tablespoons honey, or to taste
  • 6 cups boiling water
  • Dark rum (optional)

1. In a heatproof pitcher or pan, combine lemon juice, ginger, honey, and boiling water.

2. Steep for 6 minutes.

3. Add rum, if desired, to taste.
