American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius)
This herb contains ginsenosides, which appear to fight fatigue and stress by supporting the adrenal glands and the use of oxygen by exercising muscles.
Recommended dose: 1–3 grams of dried root powder daily in capsule or tablet form.

Antioxidants
Supplementing your diet with antioxidants, especially vitamins C, B5 (pantothenic acid), B6, and other B vitamins, is particularly important during times of stress because they boost the body’s defenses against free radical damage linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other health problems.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
Ashwagandha, which stimulates the immune system and inhibits inflammation, counteracts the effects of stress and generally promotes wellness.
Recommended dose: 3–6 grams of dried root powder daily in capsule or tea form.

Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea)
Known to reduce stress and fatigue, improve memory, and increase overall well-being, rhodiola also stimulates the immune system and enables the body’s defenses to ward off the effects of stress.
Recommended dose: 200–600 mg daily of a standardized extract.

Schisandra (Schisandra chinensis)
Used for centuries in Chinese medicine, schisandra increases stamina and fights fatigue. An adaptogen, this herb also improves the body’s resistance to disease and stress.
Recommended dose: 400–450 mg of powdered herb three times per day, or 1–2 ml of tincture three times per day.
