Gary Erickson: Finding capital to grow can be a 'struggle'

As the founder and CEO of Clif Bar, Gary Erickson understands the trials and tribulations small natural, organic and healthy product companies must go through in their journey to fund growth. In the early years of Clif Bar, Erickson says, "it was a real struggle to find capital to grow." Hoping to provide today's growing healthy product companies with the funding and consulting resources he would have liked to have had with Clif, Erickson created White Road Investments—which he says is different from any other investment group operating today.

Erickson and his White Road Investments partner Gregg Bagni sat down with during Natural Products Expo West to talk about what sets White Road Investments apart, the group's most recent investment and how the White Road team decides where to place its money.
